Corona virus update

posted 20 Mar 2020, 12:33 by Perth Sailing Club

It will come as no surprise that after much debate, the Committee has decided that Club sponsored sailing activities will have to be suspended for the foreseeable future. We received useful advice from members in the medical profession and along with government advice on social interaction we believe it is for the best.

So fitting out as a club activity tomorrow is cancelled as are all fixtures on the race card. Boats in the shed can remain there till things improve. However, all is not lost. The river is still there so if you have your boat at home and wish to bring it down, that is your decision to make and at your own risk. Note that there will be no safety cover. Anyone that has their own boat available can use the facility. It’s just the same as sailing out-of hours any season.

There is lots of soap and water in the clubhouse if you have to use it. We will get sanitisers for it as soon as we can get some but soap and water is the best thing for cleaning with.

Hopefully the worst will pass soon and we can all get back to playing on the water. The Committee will keep folk updated on how we see things going as the situation develops.

Till then, look after yourselves and hope to see you soon.
