Last orders for the Dewar

The final day of the Dewar Series saw another sunny evening with fair winds, and nine boats set off from the start line. Oliver Williams managed to Shanghai Keith Fergie to fill his crew vacancy and the boys coped well considering Keiths complete lack of experience in high performance dinghies. True there were moments of sheer panic when the 285 sq ft gennaker powered up and Keith's expression and the pitch of Oliver's instructions will stay with me for a very long time. They completed race one dry, so well done!
The evening belonged to the slower boats which seemed to forget they were not fast boats with John Ferguson in the Streaker and Bill Inches in the Firefly mixing it with the Albacore, Fireball and International 14 much of the time.
