Hi, my name is Karen Bluhm, welcome to my website! I’m an American Council on Exercise, certified personal trainer, Aquatic Exercise Association, certified aquatic instructor, ACE Senior Fitness and Certified Functional Aging Specialist.No matter your age, being active and healthy is an ongoing quest. My goal is to give you the tools and guidance you will need to start or continue your fitness journey. Karen's Guiding Principle
My mission is to assist others in improving the quality of their lives through incorporating healthy lifestyle habits that include exercise; healthy nutrition and developing a positive mindset. I believe my passion for health and fitness is a gift and my purpose is to live out my passion for helping others.
I know what it’s like to struggle with weight and self-image issues. It has been a long journey to get to where I am today and I am still a work in progress.
My personal journey took a major turn a few years ago when I found myself at a crossroads in my life. I was at a point where I needed to make a major decision as to whether or not I was going to continue working as a social worker, or to take a leap of faith and try a new career in the health and fitness field. Well, I decided I didn’t want to look back at my life with regrets, so I became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, as well as Certified Aquatic Fitness Instructor. I have never looked back and am glad I took that leap of faith to see what was possible out there for me.
I encourage you to do the same. It may be safe to stand on the side and continue on the same path of feeling like a failure because all your efforts to become healthy, like losing weight and eating better, have not gotten you the results you expected. The path to fitness is one you don't have to journey alone. It’s a one-day-at-a-time journey that will have its ups and downs, but that doesn't mean all is lost and hopeless.
Let me take this journey with you and see where it takes you. Don't be one who looks back and regrets not taking action to control your life and destiny. This takes courage, time, patience, and faith in the process that gets your health and fitness journey on its way.
