PFJIM started a community – based evangelistic project in Narok
district called Maasai Community Development and Youth Progress
(MACODEYOP) in response to the Church objective of empowering church members and people of target areas. All the project leaders and members are PFJIM church members. We use community development projects/programs as evangelistic tools to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ among people in our target areas.
OBJECTIVES OF MACODEYOP
Initiate and run or facilitate the running of community-based women
group development projects/programs, Initiate and run or facilitate
the running of community-based youth group development
projects/programs e.g. water supply projects, Establish and run
income-generating activities of different kinds including poverty
alleviation projects, To be involved in environmental conservation and
protection programmes, projects and activities, To supplement
government efforts in providing health services by involving in health
provision services, Promote and
provide quality education to the needy community in the project locations, Establish and run or facilitate the running of orphans, widows, destitute and disabled/physically challenged care and support programmes/projects, Effect just, moral and spiritual behaviour change in people through proclamation of the Gospel or Evangelism.
Part of the ministry of People for Jesus International Ministries' work is to plant new churches in areas where the people have no church or where the local church has become ineffective.
The Olooltoto village
Here in the village of Olooltoto in Kenya's Maasai Mara a simple church building has been erected to shelter the congregation from the sun and from the rains. This building is also used for a community gathering point and for prayer retreat events from other churches around Kenya.
