FALL 2019 Symposium: Novel Technologies in Radiation Physics
Program Objectives: The 2019 Fall Symposium of the Penn-Ohio Chapter of the AAPM is open to
medical physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, students, and residents. The program will cover novel
technologies in Radiation Physics. Thus the main objectives are:
● Learn about emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, 4 radiotherapy, FLASH therapy,
immunization therapy, automation in radiotherapy, and proton dosimetry
● Learn about novel technologies in diagnostic physics such as duel-energy CT and mobile CT
● Discuss updates for maintenance of board certification for medical physicists
● Learn about the changing landscape of medical physics and the perspective we should adopt in
our work
● Explore the latest developments in medical physics from students, residents, and researchers
THIS MEETING HAS BEEN APPROVED BY CAMPEP FOR 11.0 MPCEC HOURS. and 9.0 MDCB credits. 2.0 SAM credits are pending approval. To get your CE credits, you will need to fill out the session evaluation form and an attendance form. You can only access the attendance form through the link that appears in the message box after you submit the form.

REGISTRATION:
Cost of the meeting is $60 for members for early pre-paid registration, increasing to $80 after October 18th. Non-chapter and non-AAPM member physicists are welcome to attend for $60 plus a chapter fee of $15 (payable online at aapm.org or via check at the meeting). Dosimetrists and RTTs pay $40.00, also increasing to $60 after 10/18. Students are free (including those with Junior and Resident status) but need to register for $20 by the 10/18 deadline, and then will have their $20 refunded when they stay for the entire meeting. [This too will increase by $20 after 10/18.] CAMPEP MPCEC credits, SAM credits, and MDCB credits will be awarded.
Your registration will include all meals related to the symposium, including afternoon snacks on Friday, continental breakfast Saturday morning, snacks during the day Saturday, and lunch that afternoon.
