Artist Statement

Functional pottery is my passion. A graduate of Ripon High School,  I went on to get a BFA degree from UW Oshkosh with an emphasis in Ceramics.  The path of clay led me to apprentice under Master Potter Robert Eckles in Bayfield, Wisconsin.  There I found my love for functional pottery. I have a strong belief that creating a functional piece of pottery touches every person's life in a matter of fact way.  There is something so comforting about using a hand made mug or bowl to feed not only your body but your soul. Although the act of throwing pots is usually done on my time in my studio I love the opportunity that art fairs give me as I share my work, make life long friends, and connect with pottery lovers.
