The missions of Division 214 are:

 Design, Construction and  Maintenance of the interstate highways within New York

City and administrates the highway and rail safety program within NYC

Our Motor Carrier Safety Group executes safety inspections of buses and trucks within

NYC by our Motor Vehicle Inspectors

 The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC)

provides a collaborative planning forum to address transportation-related issues from a regional perspective and plans and makes decisions on the use of federal transportation funds.

The NYMTC region includes New York City, Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley. It encompasses an area of 2,440 square miles and a population of 11.3 million, approximately 65% of New York State's population.
