Welcome to the California Neonatal/Pediatric/Perinatal Disaster Coalition! This googlesite has been formed to connect Pediatric, Neonatal, NICU, PICU, Hospital, Emergency Department, Perinatal, OB and Disaster professionals with ideas, information, resources and strategies for supporting regional pediatric surge and disaster preparedness throughout California and the United States.  We encourage both novice and expert to participate in network support activities and planning. 

Effective September 24, 2014 our coalition efforts now include Perinatal and OB! We will be collecting information and resources to make sure your community has the benefit of all the latest resources from subject matter experts committed to support disaster preparedness for pregnant women and newborns!

Project at a Glance:

To support pediatric, neonatal and perinatal local, regional, state and national disaster preparedness and medical surge efforts.  Although this network began in California we welcome colleagues from all disciplines and every state working on these issues.

Project Objectives

  • Develop innovative models to support pediatric, neonatal and perinatal disaster Preparedness
  • To improve local capabilities for pediatric, neonatal and perinatal medical surge.
  • Connect providers to experts, research, resources, tools and best practices.
  • Support the development of regional pediatric, neonatal and perinatal disaster planning.
  • Provide an informal network of support and consultation to colleagues and champions
  • To advocate for local pedi, neonatal and perinatal capability on the regional, state and national level.
