Service-Learning: Project Management Seminar


Week 1:
  • Day 1: Introduction
  • Day 2: Within your group, decide:
    • Who is the "meeting facilitator"
    • Who is "minutes taker"
    • Who needs help / can help using the Internet?
    • How will you divide the vocabulary explorations?
    • How will you divide the vocabulary & concepts to explore
    • How will you divide the Edutopia Core Strategies?
  • Days 3-4: 
    • Individually or in groups, gain an understanding of the Course Vocabulary
    • Visit Edutopia's Core Strategies - translate them into French & try to understand the basics of each
    • Review the SL Case Studies (from KIDS Consortium)
    • Meet in groups to discuss findings, answer each others questions, and document areas where the group is still confused
    • Select ANY topic that most interests you and explore it further
  • Day 5:
    • Whole Group Seminar: Questions & Answers
    • Select ANY topic that most interests you and explore it further
Week 2:
      • Days 6-9: 
        • Individuals: 1/2 Page Paper (preferably by e-mail in French & English!) on ANY topic of your choice
        • Begin Practice SL Project 
      • Day 10:
        • Present and Discuss 1 SL Action Plan per Group
        • Individual Assessments
