Paul Norman is a population & health geographer with particular expertise in time-series and longitudinal analyses of both area and individual-level data derived from census, survey and administrative records.

Research includes studies on health-selective migration, small area-based studies of UK demographic change under the ESRC Understanding Population Trends and Processes (UPTAP) programme. Further UPTAP and ESRC funded projects have been on ethnic group population projections. Current research includes an investigation of sub-national patterns of radical right support in Europe.

Paul did his PhD at the School of Geography, University of Leeds, was then a research fellow at CCSR in Manchester before returning to Leeds as Lecturer in Human Geography where he is Programme Leader of the MSc in GIS and was Director of Masters Education (2015-17).
