Starting from June 2016 I am working as Economist at the Department of Finance, Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance in Rome. From October 2017, I am Academic Visitor at the Economics and Financial Management Subject Group, Portsmouth Business School, University of Portsmouth (UK), where I am also working on the EU Project PERCEIVE. During the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018, I was responsible for the course Economics of Market Regulation at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy).  

I studied Economics at Bocconi University in Milan (B.Sc.), then Public Economics at the University of York in the UK (M.Sc.); and I earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Catania (Italy). From 2014 to 2016, I worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Economics and Business - University of Catania (Italy). I was Research Assistant at J.F. Kennedy School Harvard University in the US (2012-2013), and Research Assistant at Ernst & Young Government and Public Sector Division in Rome (2010-2011). 

My main research interests are in the fields of Applied Economics and Public Economics, with a focus on Regional Economics, Macroeconometrics, Spatial Econometrics. I am member of the Royal Economic Society, the Regional Studies Association, the Italian Economic Association and the Italian Regional Science Association.


  • March 2018: The special issue 'Regional Determinants of Economic Resilience', co-editor Ugo Fratesi, has been published in "The Annals of Regional Science"  .
  • September 2018: I am co-organising, with Olivier Bargain and Eva Sierminska, a session on 'Measurement issues in distributional analyses and policy implications' at the next SIEP Conference in Padua (Italy).
