  Here is a short history of Scout Popcorn in Canada.
 
90 Million Dollars in Popcorn has been raised during our history and over 57 Million of that has been returned to Scouting!
 
FAST FACTS
  • All 20 Councils are involved in the sale
  • Over $57,000,000 has been raised by groups since 1989
  • National promotions with "The World's Largest Popcorn Ball" and the "World's Longest Popcorn String." Tour stops in Saint John, Toronto, Regina Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg
  • More than 350 youth have qualified for the Scholarship Program to date
  • Product line growth from $8 and $14 items to $20, $25, $40 and $55 items expanding Scouting profit per container
  • Chinook and Northern Lights Councils (Alberta) have surpassed sales of $1,000,000 each ($1.9 and $1.3 respectively)

1st sale held in Lethbridge and Calgary AB with 24,000 containers sold and $195,000 in sales
1995
Scouts Canada nationally endorses Trail's End Program
2005
During the fall 2005 sale Calgary sells over 90,000 containers with $1,400,000
2005-2006
0 gms trans fat introduced along with all products being Kosher
2005-2007
Scouts Canada and Trail's End runs a 3 year "tin" anniversary in 2005/2006/2007 for Scouting's Centennial
2007
Scouts Canada introduces the Canadian Scouting Heroes on 3 microwave boxes highlighting youth who had received meritorious conduct bravery medals
2007
Diacetyl removed from all products
2008
20 Councils selling, with sales totaling over $10,500,000
2008
Over 7,000 youth and adults "Filled it Up"
2010
Cheese Lover's Collection added to program
2010
Trail's End and Scouts Canada celebrate 10 years as partners
