News - November 2013 - Quiz and Buffet

A quiz night proved just the answer to fundraising for the Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve.
The quiz and buffet night at the Little Paxton reserve's visitors' centre, sponsored by Anglia Co-operative and its nearby store at Eaton Socon, raised £458.

The money will go towards providing access ramps at the reserve to open up two nature trails to disability vehicles.

It's the latest in a series of fundraisers organised for the Friends by Anglia Co-operative and its store and Friends' chairman Dr Ray Matthews said: "We're immensely grateful to Anglia Co-operative and its customers for supporting improvements to the access facilities for visitors to the reserve.
"To receive this donation in addition to previous funding for our dragonfly viewing platform, bird hide screen and improvements to a particularly muddy path at the reserve is really quite outstanding."

The quiz was compiled by Friends volunteer Sarahjane Williams and the evening was attended by 50 people.
