Our Mission

Welcome! We are the Program to Advance Women Scientists (PAWS) in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Arizona. We are a recently established student-led group that focuses on empowering women in the sciences by providing mentorship, leadership, education, and support.

What we do?


    • Seminars- Leading and experienced women chemists present their work, experience and their path to success.
    • Educational Outreach – Activities targeting high schools to encourage young women to pursue science
    • Professional Development Workshops
    • Social Events

We are the New Student Organization of the Year 2016 at the University of Arizona.


How to become a member?

Any CBC or non CBC graduate/undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty/staff members, female or male, who is interested in PAWS events and mission can become a member. There is a $10 annual membership fee.
