Paul M. Gorny

Welcome to my web page!

My name is Paul M. Gorny and I am a postdoctoral researcher (Akademischer Rat auf Zeit) at the Chair of Human Resource Management (Institute of Management) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). I obtained my PhD from the University of East Anglia.

I obtained my bachelor's and my research track master's degree from the Cologne Graduate School (CGS) at the University of Cologne.

My research interests are two-fold. I am interested in understanding gender differences in behaviour with a special angle on how gender engrained in language affects these behavioural differences. I am also interested in how human behaviour changes when artificial intelligence tools and robots become part of the interaction environment. Whereas human-machine interaction is a part of this research, I specifically focus on human-human interaction in the presence of or in team collaboration with machines

I mainly use lab and field experiments as well as RCTs to gather the underlying data for my research, but I also have projects with other data sources.

A few of my projects also relate to experimental software and experimental methodology. During my PhD, I worked on Contest Theory and Networks with a particular focus on studies that apply to Conflict, Identity and asymmetries in skills, prize valuations, and costs.

You can find my CV here.
