"A Common Sense Guide to Why People Get Sick and How to Stay Well"

Welcome to the free special report. I’ve been on a mission to study the most brilliant minds in health and nutrition. I invested over a year writing this report. The ideas included here are not all mine, are not original and are generally not new either. I hope they are as helpful to you as they have been for me and my family.

The Reason for This Report

Look around you. A lot of people are not healthy. Here are a few facts about the health situation in America :

    * Over one hundred million Americans today have a chronic illness 
    * Every 31 seconds someone dies of heart disease – a total of one million people annually
    * One out of three people in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer
    * 80% of diabetes would be eliminated simply by bringing body weight into normal range
    * Hip fracture complications due to osteoporosis cause more deaths than all auto accidents
    * Seven out of ten people will die of heart disease, cancer or stroke

About 1.3 million Americans have died in all the wars in U.S. history. That’s a lot of deaths. Today, though, we lose more than that number of Americans each year because of cancer and heart disease. Yet these diseases of affluence are unknown in many parts of the world. So for these reasons and more, there is a need for at least one more health report. And here it is.
 

Take The Mystery Out of Disease

Let’s take the mystery out of disease by presenting a different idea about sickness: There are not thousands of diseases, but only one disease – the malfunction of cells. They’re just given different names, like arthritis, cancer or heart disease. So if the cells that make up your body are healthy, then you are healthy. If your cells are sick, then you are sick. The key is to put the good nutrition in your body and keep the bad toxins out - and disease won’t happen.1

 Disease is not a random event. It’s a process. You can significantly reduce your chances of getting sick, if you know how. Your health is your responsibility. Rather than being a game of chance, health is a choice. The daily choices you make directly impacts the health of your cells. When you make wrong choices and your health declines, you have been taught to blame genetics, germs, the aging process, or just plain bad luck, instead of poor nutrition. Remember, disease is simply the deterioration of the cell.2

Modern medicine has a poor understanding of disease because the symptoms are treated rather than the true causes. That’s why so many people die from degenerative diseases such as heart disease and cancer. The patient is “treated” but seldom healed. As long as people treat their symptoms instead of looking at why they’re sick, they’ll never get well. It’s similar to removing the red oil indicator bulb out of the dash when it comes on, instead of dealing with the need for oil. The engine will eventually end up with major damage. And so will you.

The Concept of a Healthy Cell

At about two months of age, your body has all the cells it will ever get, somewhere around one hundred trillion of them. For the rest of your life, your body will not produce any additional cells, only replace the old cells. In addition, your cells are constantly in the process of dying and being replaced at the rate of three hundred million per minute.

So every four weeks, your entire outer layer of skin is replaced. Every two months, practically every cell in your heart muscle is rebuilt. Within two to three years, your entire bone structure is replaced. So every two to three years, every cell in your body is replaced with a new cell. In other words, you’ll have a totally new body.3

The question is, what kind of body will it be? Will your new body be weaker or stronger than the one you have today? It’s up to you. Because as your old cells die and are replaced, your new cells depend totally upon the building materials you provide it - the foods you eat, the liquids you drink and the air you breathe.

If your cell’s needs are properly met, then ultimately a new, healthy and strong cell will be reproduced. So if you want energy, physical strength, and freedom from sickness, take care of your cells.

The Leading Cause of Disease

So what’s the best way to take care of your cells? Make sure they get the proper nutrition. But study after study shows that most Americans are deficient of several essential nutrients. Yet, our excess calories are causing an obesity epidemic. Our bodies are starving on a full stomach. Nutrition is more than making your hunger pangs disappear. The average American diet simply does not support the biological needs of human cells. Our cells then weaken and deteriorate and we get sick.4

According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, less than one percent of the population gets the recommended daily serving of nine fruits and vegetables. This means that 99 percent of Americans are not getting the necessary vital nutrients! Yet, any level of malnutrition makes you susceptible to disease.5

Most people drive a car and know they must put good gasoline in the gas tank if it’s going to run properly. If a low-grade fuel is used, the vehicle will ping and knock. If sugar is put in the gas tank, it will get a “disease” and destroy the engine. Why? Because the engine was designed to run on a certain grade of fuel. Our car requires the proper grade of fuel in order to run properly and most people are careful to put in good fuel.

Well, your body is certainly more complex than an auto engine. It’s designed to run on a certain grade of fuel also. If you give your body low-grade or the wrong fuel, it will get a “disease” and won’t run properly either.

How Did We Get Into Such A Mess?

Our problems started with the Industrial Revolution as people moved off farms and into cities to work in factories. The challenge to feed all of these people led to the birth of commercial farming and the processed food industry. This has led to less nutrition in our foods. The problem is so bad that in 1998 the National Academy of Sciences announced that those who eat plenty of fruits and vegetables are not getting all the vitamins and minerals needed for good health.6

Current methods used to grow and get produce from farms to supermarkets creates food that doesn’t have enough nutrition. Commercial farming depletes the soil of essential minerals. Crops are often harvested before they’re ripe and stored for long periods of time. More harm is done in order to give the produce longer shelf life, better taste and a healthy appearance. The end result? Fruits and vegetables that look and taste good - but doesn’t have enough nutrition. So your “balanced diet” is robbed of vitamins and minerals that you believe you’re consuming.7

For example, when you eat an apple, it has one-fifth of the nutrition of an apple fifty years ago. You would need to eat up to five times the amount of food your grandparents did just to receive the same nutritional value. So an apple a day won’t keep the doctor away. According to many health experts, you need to complement your apple and the rest of your diet with high-quality supplements made from whole foods.8

Too little of our food, virtually none for many people, is eaten raw.  Cooking at temperatures over 120 degrees kills practically  all of the nutrition in most foods. So most people are trying to achieve the impossible - maintain health while eating food that does not support health. The four worst food choices, sugar, white flour, processed oils, and milk products, as well as the thousands of products containing these foods, make up most of the average American diet - and are devastating to your health.9


What The Experts Say 

A landmark study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, using thirty-six years of data, concluded that everyone needs to supplement - regardless of age or health. They concluded that people who did not get enough nutrition were at an increased risk of disease, including heart disease and cancer.

“Insufficient vitamin and mineral intake is apparently a cause of chronic disease… Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet alone. Pending strong evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements.”

It’s almost impossible to be healthy without supplementing your regular diet. Yet, more than half the U.S. population doesn’t supplement. Those who do receive few benefits.10

Why I Believe Nutrition Matters

After watching my grandfather slowly rot to death from cancer, I started thinking more about my own health. Then I saw my thirty-two year-old friend die from leukemia and I realized that poor health can happen at any age. And on January 23, 2007, after eight years on oxygen, my father died from pancreatic cancer.

I have a friend who is now eighty-seven years old. But when she was seventy-five, Mrs. Gravely's health was so bad her family considered a full-time nurse. Then one day, a friend educated her about health and nutrition. So she changed her diet and added nutritional supplements to her daily routine. It took two years, but she gradually turned her health around - and never did get that nurse.

When I met Mrs. Gravely and saw her turn her health around, I realized I didn’t have to get sick. I came to understand that health doesn’t happen by chance, but by choice. All I had to do was get educated about nutrition and make the right choices for my long-term health success. Yes, we’re all going to eventually die. But while we’re here on this earth, we can put the odds for good health in our favor and live well.

 
What About You?

You may consider yourself to be a healthy person. So why should you consider making any changes? Let’s begin with obesity. It’s the main cause of Type II diabetes and at an all time high. In addition, six of the ten leading causes of disease - heart disease, cancer, strokes, diabetes, hardening of the arteries, and scarring of the liver - can be traced to unhealthy nutritional habits.11 And finally, nearly 74% of all adults will die from cancer, heart disease or stroke. So if you continue to consume the Standard American Diet and don’t change anything, you are a walking time bomb.

Like my grandfather and Dad, most people will not be spared the pain and suffering of old age. Rather than dying peacefully in their sleep, they’ll instead undergo a series of health crisis, such as a heart attack or stroke. They may have years of medication and limits on their activities, even a loss of employment. They’ll lose their independence and need help for the simplest of things, such as eating or going to the bathroom.

Dr. Russell Blaylock, M.D. says, “My experience with treating many such patients has been sobering, especially since for most of us, life doesn’t have to end this way. Extensive scientific studies on nutrition and supplementation have demonstrated that many diseases associated with aging can be avoided, or significantly reduced, by following simple nutritional guidelines and avoiding behaviors that increase risk. Understand that you’re going to pay a price. It’s either invest in good health now, or pay the price for poor health later, when it is much harder to do so. There’s no such thing as a magic wand or quick fix to cure sickness and disease. It’s about priorities, getting educated about health and then making smart choices.  Like I said, everyone will eventually die. However, the way you look and how you feel the last twenty to fifty years of your life depends on your lifestyle and the nutrition you consume throughout your entire life.

 
Conclusion

In this report, my purpose has been to emphasize that your best protection is gaining knowledge and getting involved in your own health. Being sick and tired is not the natural process to getting older. Once you understand the principle of cell health, the whole concept of disease prevention and cure makes sense.

In 1993, Dr. Walter Willett, at Harvard’s School of Public Health, said that at least half of all illnesses could be eliminated through changes in the diet. Here are some basic health tips to consider:

    * Eat primarily a vegetarian diet of organic, fresh and raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds
    * Eat meat only once per day – organic only if possible (no antibiotics or growth hormones)
    * Do not eat pork - pigs eat anything in its path, including its own feces
    * Do not eat shellfish (loaded with toxins) - eat only fish that have scales and fins
    * Eat foods high in fiber - more than any other body organ, the colon affects every cell
    * Eventually eliminate white flour, dairy products, processed oils, and sugar (it feeds cancer)
    * Do not consume high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oil, aspartame, or MSG 
    * Do not drink tap water with fluoride or chlorine - also consider buying a shower filter 
    * Do not drink soft drinks - they block calcium absorption and cause osteoporosis 
    * Get 30 to 60 minutes of daily exercise by walking or using a rebounder (a mini-trampoline)
    * Consider purchasing a juicer and drink a glass of freshly extracted juice daily
    * Check your body’s pH (alkaline vs. acidity) - cancer thrives in an acidic environment
    * Get more sunlight and try not to use sunglasses - you need the vitamin D
    * Ideally, get a full eight hours of solid, deep, restful sleep every night

I think Jack LaLanne said it best. He is ninety-two years-old, healthy and strong. He lifts weights and swims laps for two hours every morning - and doesn’t get sick. Jack’s rule is: “If man made it, don’t eat it.” That’s basically the bottom line. What you put in your mouth, ideally, should be one hundred percent natural. In other words, try to avoid foods that come in a bag, box, or wrapper and are laced with preservatives.

Take control over your health. Do research and get educated about all of the available options, especially those that deal with exercise, nutrition and supplementation. The idea is to promote health self-reliance. If this sounds like work, well, you’re right. Life is work. You have to eat. You might as well eat the right way. Invest time in your health. Better the library or the bookstore than the doctor’s waiting room.

Finally, there are basically two kinds of people: those that are willing to change, and those that are not. There are two kinds of sick people: those that do not want to change their lifestyle - even when their lives are hanging in the balance - and those that do, but don’t know where to start. Maybe I can help.
