Pat Howey has four adult children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Several have disabilities. Pat became involved in special education when her youngest child entered the public school system in 1985. She specializes in dispute resolution and parent training. Pat has an A.S. and a B.A. in Paralegal Studies and was a charter member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates and a member of its first Board of Directors. She has been a member of the Wrightslaw Speakers Bureau since 2004 and is a member of the Faculty of the College of William and Mary Law School's Institute on Special Education Advocacy.
