    Formian Hive Queen

    A formian resembles a cross between an ant and a centaur. All formians are covered in a brownish-red carapace; this one is larger than a warhorse, with distinctive markings all over her carapace and a scheming gleam in her eye.

    DC Result
    19 Formian Queens are the mother of the entire tribe. They lair in a centrally protected location.
    24 Formian queens are always protected by an honor guard and if attacked will summon the entire tribe to protect herself.
    29 Formian queens have vast magical abilities and resistances which make a massive physical assault the best way to deal with her.
    34 If the queen falls, the hive mind of will be lost until a new queen is born.

    Editor's Notes

    A few notes on this creature:

    1.  Flat footed AC is not listed.  Flat footed AC should be 23.
    2.  This creature's CMD indicates that it cannot be tripped; however, this creature's description indicates it has multiple legs.  Assuming she has four legs, we recommend the revised CMD 34 (38 vs. trip).  

    GM's are encouraged to use these statistics.

    One final note:  this creature appears very powerful for a CR 14 creature.  GM's may wish to increase its CR by one to better reflect its difficulty.
