RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.     Please pre-register by by mail, or by  via phone (814-422-8779) or email (gkmorrison@verizon.net). Payment for phone or e-mail class registration and/or banquet reservations is due on April 16.

2.     Please complete a separate entry form for each adult or child entering the show or taking a class.   Additional banquet reservations may be included on one form. A single check may be sent for all forms.

3.     An $8.00 entry fee per adult (not per cake,) must accompany the entry form.  No refunds can be made.  No entry fees are required for children under 12, but please include the child’s age on his or her entry form.

4.     This is a SHARING SHOW.  There will be no judging.  Each entrant will cast one vote for Decorators’ Choice.  The cake with most votes will be given the Decorators’ Choice Award of $25.00.

5.     Cakes may be brought to the JC Penney Court on Saturday between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.  Floor length gray table covers are provided by the Mall. Table decorating is permitted and encouraged. Either real or dummy cakes may be used, but dummies must be designed so that they can be reproduced in real cake.  Cakes displayed at other shows are most definitely welcome!

6.     If you would like to have your name included on a vendor’s list that will be available to the public, please include information in the space provided on the entry form.  This list is given out by request only.

7.     All entries MUST be the work of the person entering.  Children may be helped with baking cakes, making icing or preparing dummies, but not with icing or decorating their displays.  There will be a special table for displaying children’s cakes.

8.     Cakes in poor taste will be removed.

9.     Please place a 3”x 5” card beside each entry listing the artist’s name, hometown, state, cake pan size(s), type(s) of icing, tip sizes, and special techniques used.

10.   Cakes may be removed between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, but NOT before 4:00 p.m.  After 5:00 p.m. remaining cakes will be discarded unless other arrangements have been made.

11.   Every effort will be made to protect entries.  However, show director, show personnel, and the Nittany Mall cannot be held responsible for theft, damage, or loss of entries or personal items.  There will be an attendant at the show during the banquet.

12.   Interested manufacturers, wholesalers, and cake decorating supply shops have generously donated prizes.  Prizes will be awarded at the Saturday night banquet.  If you can’t be there, prizes will be available at the cake display area on Sunday.   We’re sorry, but we can’t mail unclaimed prizes.

13.   All proceeds from entry fees and demos are used to defray the cost of the show.  No refunds will be issued for entries, banquet or classes. (Class fees only, may be refunded if the space can be refilled.)  All of our Demonstrators, Committee members, and many others, donate their time and talents to help make our show a success.

14.   We’re looking forward to seeing you!
