PHCA and Stopwaste.org present a full day event to explore local, national and international retrofits that have been constructed using the Passive House energy modelling standard. Join us to learn more about this standard and how it can be used to drastically improve the energy performance of existing buildings. Presenters include Dr. Wolfgang Feist, founder of the Passive House Institute and researchers from Lawrence Berkeley Labs, who have been monitoring the performance of a number of local deep energy retrofits. Learn how retrofits also conserve resources through re-use or re-purposing of existing materials and buildings.
A panel of local builders will be on hand to answer questions about recent retrofit projects they have worked on. The economics of Passive House will also be reviewed, including information on incentive programs available to homeowners who are thinking of undertaking a major renovation of their home. Lunch and refreshments are included.
Date: Friday, September 9th, 2011
Time: 8.00am - 4.30pm
Venue: Stopwaste.org Conference Room, 1537 Webster Street, Oakland
