sewing machine

- A machine with a mechanically driven needle for sewing or stitching
cloth

- a textile machine used as a home appliance for sewing

- A sewing machine is a textile machine used to stitch fabric, paper, card and
other material together with thread. Sewing machines were invented during the
first Industrial Revolution to decrease the amount of manual sewing work
performed in clothing companies.

- Any mechanical or electromechanical device used to stitch cloth or other
material; normally uses two threads to form lock stitches

functions

- (function) serve: serve a purpose, role, or function; "The tree stump serves
as a table"; "The female students served as a control group"; "This table would
serve very well"; "His freedom served him well"; "The table functions as a
desk"

- An activity or purpose natural to or intended for a person or
thing

- (function) (mathematics) a mathematical relation such that each element of a
given set (the domain of the function) is associated with an element of another
set (the range of the function)

- Practical use or purpose in design

- A basic task of a computer, esp. one that corresponds to a single
instruction from the user

- (function) perform as expected when applied; "The washing machine won't go
unless it's plugged in"; "Does this old car still run well?"; "This old radio
doesn't work anymore"

Functions Modeling Change: A Preparation for Calculus

The third edition of this ground-breaking text
continues the authors' goal - a targeted introduction to precalculus that
carefully balances concepts with procedures. Overall, this text is designed to
provide a solid foundation to precalculus that focuses on a small number of key
topics thereby emphasizing depth of understanding rather than breath of
coverage. Developed by the Calculus Consortium, FMC 3e is flexible enough to be
thought-provoking for well-prepared students while still remaining accessible to
students with weaker backgrounds. As multiple representations encourage students
to reflect on the material, each function is presented symbolically,
numerically, graphically and verbally (the Rule of Four). Additionally, a large
number of real-world applications, examples and problems enable students to
create mathematical models that will help them understand and interpret the
world in which they live.

Katy Perry - Part of Me The Remixes

I worked really hard on this, About an hour the
first time. Then all the sudden my program/editor froze and I hadn't saved yet.
Bummer. I tried to recreate what I had the first time, And I think I was
kinda of sucessful... Anyways I really liked the way this turned out, I've been
wanting to try something of this style for a while now. Excuse me for the font.
I used the logos the lovely Sebi gave us and then I was going to use the 'Part
Of Me' font, But it's kinda LQ, and it's not lined up right so I just decided
I'd use a different one. Also, I wanted to try out some tags, I really liked the
way it look on some other covers I've seen. I don't think I'll be using them
again. Not my favorite.

FINALLY Part of Your World

Ariel is a favorite character to photograph
during Fantasmic because, being a mermaid, she's perfectly complemented by the
fountains in the background. I tried to catch her during the princess segment of
the show with little success, so I gave it another go during the finale. The
brighter lighting definitely helped in capturing Ariel as she finally gets to be
part of the human world.

This is a college algebra-level textbook
written to provide the kind of mathematical knowledge and experiences that
students will need for courses in other fields, such as biology, chemistry,
business, finance, economics, and other areas that are heavily dependent on data
either from laboratory experiments or from other studies. The focus is on the
fundamental mathematical concepts and the realistic problem-solving via
mathematical modeling rather than the development of algebraic skills that might
be needed in calculus.

Functions, Data, and Models presents college algebra
in a way that differs from almost all college algebra books available today.
Rather than going over material covered in high school courses the Gordons teach
something new. Students are given an introduction to data analysis and
mathematical modeling presented at a level that students with limited algebraic
skills can understand. The book contains a rich set of exercises, many of which
use real data. Also included are thought experiments or what if questions that
are meant to stretch the student s mathematical thinking.
