OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL THIS YEAR IS $6500. THATS JUST $25 PER STUDENT! ALL MONEY RAISED GOES BACK TO PARR AND IT'S FAMILIES THROUGH EVERYTHING THE PTA SUPPORTS DURING THE YEAR (computers, classroom needs, families in need, community events, back to school BBQ and so much more).

        • 10:05-10:25  2ND GRADE & KINDERGARTEN
        • 10:55 – 11:15  4TH GRADE
        • 11:55-12:15  5TH GRADE & 5TH/6TH COMBO CLASS
        • 1:25 – 1:45 PM PRESCHOOL &  6TH GRADE
        • 2:30-2:50  1ST GRADE


If we reach our fundraising goal, this can be our only fundraiser this year!  

Proceeds from the Fun Run go back to the school in the form of technology, library books, funds for classroom needs, reading programs, spelling bee, science fair, Race to Read and all of the events the PTA runs and sponsors for the Parr Community!

History of the Fun Run - 4 years ago the Parr PTA was brave enough to break away from vendor administered fundraisers that take up to 60% of the profits and forced us to sell unwanted items or unhealthy foods!  The PTA decided to take a new approach to FUNdraising and do something that was both FUN and HEALTHY for our kids.  The FUN RUN was born!

How It Works - During their specials class time, each grade level will go outside and run/walk on an 1/8 mile course.  Preschool joins us both in the morning and the afternoon. The students complete as many laps as they can during a 20 minute period (15 minutes for preschool).  Each time they pass the starting line they receive a bead necklace.  At the end of the time period, the bead necklaces are counted and logged and the students receive a healthy snack and water.

Our event is a COMMUNITY event!  Teachers and parents are encouraged to cheer their students on or join in the FUN and RUN! Our PE teacher, Mr Barker spends the entire day running with the kids!  He helps the kids stretch, encourages them and makes sure they stay safe.  We also invite the Lake Arbor Fire Department and Police Department out to cheer on our kids and help pass out beads! 

FUNdraising - Each student is encouraged to ask family and friends to "sponsor" them in their run.  They can make a donation of any amount.  This year we are not doing per lap donations in an effort to make the process easier and more efficient. Each student this year is asked to get $25 in sponsor donations to help us reach our goal.  EVERY DONATION COUNTS, BIG OR SMALL TO HELP US REACH OUR GOAL!

Prizes - Students who run the most laps (boy & girl) and collect the most donations in each classroom will get a cupcake decorating party, donated entirely by The Dessert Stand. We also award prizes to students that reach various levels of donations (any donation, $25, $50, $75, $100, $150, $200, $250).
