Lot Swap Anyone?

We have three Building Lots (#215, 216, 217) located on Chestnut Drive between Ridgecrest & Scotch Pine roads.  

  • Septic Tank & Well permits were secured on August 2013.  Also, an Engineer’s drawings for the separate septic fields and wells for lots have been done.  Final inspection by the Engineer has been paid.

Due to our current situations, we currently will not be following through on our plans to build a house on these three lots.  However, we do want to be able to have a place for us and our family to utilize in the Park Ridge Development.  Consequently, we are exploring the possibility of implementing a “Swap” of either or all of our lots for an established lot*  in either the Camping or Building Lot sections of Park Ridge Development.  (*a lot with housing , trailer or camper and finished (landscaped) grounds)

Solar Eclipse 2017

Fall Dates

At the June Board meeting the fall dates were decided as,

Saturday October 14th will be our semi annual workday. Please meet at the clubhouse at 10:00 am. As usual the work crew will be fed and refreshments will be provided. (The rain day will be the 21st).
Saturday October 28th will be the ATV ride, please meet at Larry's cabin at 9:30 am. You will be riding all day so bring a lunch and refreshments.
Sunday October 29th  will be our open meeting. The meeting will start at 3:00 pm and be preceded by a pot luck lunch at 2:00 pm. Please bring your favorite covered dish. Your opinions are very important to us so try to attend if you can.

As you will have seen from previous newsletters the Board is conducting a feasibility study with regard to replacing the main gate. We will be keeping the membership informed of our progress however we would still value your input. If there is a particular design you would like to see or an entry system just let us know. We value your ideas.

Annual Meeting Update.

Following a vote by the members and as an attempt to curtail a trade in gate cards the cost of gate cards has now been increased to $50. Defective cards will be exchanged free of charge. Further details can be seen in the April minutes which will be published after the May meeting.

Annual Voting Meeting

David Pegler, Greg Whetzel and Buddy McMinnis have now all completed a three year term and are up for re-election. All three have stated that they are willing to stand for another, and final three year term.
Larry Martin will step down this year and therefore there will be a place on the Board available. The Board encourages any member in good standing to make themselves available. If you have and questions or concerns please write to the Secretary.

Gate Cards

If you have a gate card that has stopped working you can obtain a replacement free of charge. Just send the defective card with a stamped, self addressed envelope to Park Ridge Development, PO Box 566, Rocky Mount, Virginia, 24151-0566. and we will send you a new card by return.

If you need additional cards they are $50 each. Please enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your check.

Please put your boats away!

People have let boats drift and tie up across the lake.   As we are going to begin construction soon on the primary spillway for the dam we need all boats to be either put at the boat ramp (OUT of the water) or preferably at your property.     Rules have always been that boats are kept at the boat ramp -- but with this work we really prefer you keep your boat at your property and carry to the lake when you are going to use it.  THANKS!

Please respect Board members time as they are already forfeiting a substantial amount of their personal time to voluntarily serve our community.  If you have questions or comments bring them to a monthly Board meeting. 

If you have a complaint, validate it first against our covenants and restrictions, rules and regulations and bylaws (in the Documents Library).  If your complaint is valid, then try to resolve the issue yourself by speaking to the member involved.   If you cannot resolve the issue yourself, you must submit the complaint in writing to the Board (you must present this form to the Board at a monthly meeting).  Complaint forms are available on this site in the "Documents Library" ("General Complaints").    The process the Board has adopted to address written complaints is outlined the PRD 2014-01 General Complaints Procedure Policy in the Documents Library.

 These processes are in place to ensure you are supported in a fair and unemotional way and to allow the Board to handle your comments, questions or complaints during the scheduled monthly meetings.
