Detailed Course Description
The course will begin near Montage Deer Valley at an elevation of
8,465 feet. The course climbs up a paved road approximately one
third of a mile to Mid Mountain Trail. This is the only section of
the race that is not on trail. On the climb up to the trail, the
race will reach its highest elevation at 8,711 feet.
From there, the race runs along Mid Mountain Trail. This is a truly
beautiful trail featuring breathtaking views as it winds through the
Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort for the next nine
miles. This stretch includes the aid station at the six mile mark,
including a gear drop to drop extra clothes. The elevation change on
this section of the run is minimal—less than 100 feet net elevation
change per mile. The trail is well-marked, plenty wide, shaded in
many sections, and downright awesome for running!
At an elevation of 8,104 feet, runners then turn down Armstrong for
the best four miles of the race. Winding through aspen and pine
trees, runners drop approximately 1,100 feet in the final four miles
until reaching the finish at First Time Lift at an elevation of
