Outreach Ministry
The members of the Parish of Georgina believe that we are called by God to reach out into the world.
This is an essential part of how we practice our faith.
When a need arises the members step forward to do whatever is needed.
In 2022 this included; donating to PWRDF in response to the war in Ukraine, donating items for welcome packages for the new Sutton Transitional Housing for Youth and collecting clothing for men released from the Newmarket courts.
Additional outreach during the COVID-19 lockdown was provided to River Glen Haven staff, Georgina Community Food Pantry, Sandgate Shelter for Women, Faithworks and the Families made homeless due to the townhouse fire on May 26th, 2020 in Sutton.

Emergency assistance response to local issues
GEG Refugee Welcome Welcomed refugee Jefferson Daye in 2016 and his wife, Frances, son, Daniel and grandson, Gideon in 2022. Our committment to the Daye family ended in September 2023.

Prayer is a priority of the parish. We endeavor to live as a family of God, in work and worship. At both churches, intercessory prayer is an important part of the service. Parishioners, local residents, and visitors are urged to bring their prayer requests to the Prayer Desk at St. Georges, the service prayers through the church office, or through the Prayer Chain.
Diocesan and International
In 2023 the parish exceeded our 2022 donations and we were able to support food security in 9 countries. ($615), and Humanitarian Relief Support for areas impacted by extreme weather conditions or war. ($50).
In 2022 we raised $600 for PWRDF World of Gifts . We were able to support Canadian Indigenous led community initiatives including community health, support Disaster Relief, contribute to a dairy farm cooperative in Kenya and support teen moms and their babies in Uganda.
In 2021 we raised $1270 for PWRDF World of Gifts exceeding our goal of $1000! We purchased a farm in Africa, Bread fruit growing businesses in Haiti. We supported PWRDF Emergency Response, Canadian Food Grains food relief and Indigenous programs in Canada.
In 2020 we raised $915 for the World of Gifts project with which we purchased support for a Medical Clinic in Africa, Five chickens, and Pandemic relief in Indigenous Communities in Canada.
