Our group investigates the ecology and evolution of host - pathogen interactions, and dissemination of human-derived microorganisms to wildlife within a One Health framework; One Health recognises that the ecology of emerging pathogens involves movement of potential disease causing organisms between people, domesticated animals, wildlife, and the environment. We are studying the the ecology of diverse microorganisms within and between hosts, and also interrogating how co-infecting pathogens influence risk of disease emergence.
