Dr. Parag Patre is a senior engineer at Magna International in Troy, MI focussing on advanced robotics R&D, specifically in the fields of robotic perception, manipulation and grasping with the goal of advancing manufacturing technology (2018 - present). Previously he was a staff controls and robotics engineer at TE Connectivity in Harrisburg, PA working in the advanced manufacturing technologies sector  (2014 - 2018). He has also held positions as a controls research engineer at Siemens Corporate Research located in Princeton, NJ (2011 - 2014), and a research associate (NPP Fellow) at the NASA Langley Research Center under the NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellowship award (2009 - 2011). He received his B. Tech. degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2004, and masters and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida in 2007 and 2009, respectively. While in India, he also worked as a mechanical design engineer at Larsen & Toubro Limited in Mumbai (2004 - 2005).
