The Reception

Table set-up idea: ivory linens, black chairs, green centerpieces and black napkins

 Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

For my girls, I wanted to ask them in a special way.  Thank goodness for Etsy!  I found a seller that does personalized bridesmaid cards and had her do one for each of my 5 girls.  I then wrote a special note to each one and shipped it off with the Bridesmaid DVD.  They were a hit!

 Save the Dates

We wanted to do a scratch off save the date.  I looked high and low and couldn't find the right fit until there was Courtney from Swiss Cottage Designs.  She did a great job capturing what we wanted.  Our guests could guess one of six ideas 1) Landmark 2) Museum 3) Hotel 4) Restaurant 5) Library 6) Park for where we would tie the knot.  It came with a penny so guests could scratch off immediately.  The back had the John Hancock building, which is the building we see out of our window every day.  Our stamps we found at and had Chicago landmarks with the words Save the Date.

We sent out for samples of different designs from sellers on Etsy.  We decided on these from By Invitation Only.  The sample is below:

Our theme is vintage Chicago and I love these programs that mirror old dance cards.  FI was also sold and we are looking forward to ordering closer to our date.

Red is not in my color palette, but I could not resist these shoes - especially since they were on sale!

Guest Book

Guests will sign 3 records - our first dance, FI's first dance with his mother, and my first dance with my father.  We will then frame and hangup in our house.

Escort Cards

The table will be arranged with yellow orchids & twigs.  Our table names are Chicago landmarks, so the escort cards will match the table name and corresponding number (in green with black ink).

Since I work for a nonprofit in Chicago, we wanted our wedding to give back as well.  We are going to purchase wine from Hope Wine, give out soap made by The Enterprising Kitchen, and honey from Sweet Beginnings.
