I am a Vice Chancellor's Research Fellow currently working in the Department of Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing at Northumbria University. I am particularly interested in developmental and social psychology especially in relation to child, family and community food and health interventions.

In 2015, working under the supervision of Professor Greta Defeyter, Professor Riccardo Russo and Dr Caroline Reynolds, I completed my PhD thesis titled: 'Breakfast clubs, social relationships and behaviour'. I have also worked on a number of other research projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Blackpool Council, and Kellogg's. At present I am involved in the development and implementation of an online training programme for school and community breakfast club staff across the UK.  I am also working on an evaluation of Premiership Rugby's HITZ and Something to Chew On programmes.

Prior to my PhD, I spent time within primary and secondary education taking on a variety of roles including Learning Support and Social Inclusion Assistant. I also spent time volunteering as a mentor for Barnardo's.
