Our Beneficiary

Much of the proceeds from the 2012 Pallet to Palate Events will be donated to the non-profit group “ I Love Farmers…They Feed My Soul”. I Love Farmers... is an organization truly committed to educating our nation’s youth about where their food comes from. I Love Farmers…They Feed My Soul is a grass roots, all volunteer effort of young people who are working to educate their peers about how food is produced and to “celebrate the choices we have in the marketplace for our food.”  “I Love Farmers” started in San Luis Obispo and has generated national attention in the media for its bold fresh approach to consumer education.

Over the years Pallet to Palate has raised close to 60 thousand dollars for charities and we are excited to continue this success with I Love Farmers.

What Is I Love Farmers…They Feed My Soul?

I Love Farmers...They Feed My Soul is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) supporting American family farmers and ranchers through education and advocacy about food production.

MISSION :: Support American family farmers and ranchers by being a resource of information for young people 14 to 24 about food production. Our goal is to “celebrate the choices we have in the marketplace for our food supply and those who produce it.”  We recognize there are many food production models to satisfy our wants, desires and needs.

OVERVIEW ::  I Love Farmers…They Feed My Soul is a unique, fresh and creative movement to engage young people in a conversation about their food and who produces it.

This effort was launched by a passionate group of college students and their professor. It was founded in San Luis Obispo, California. It has become one of the most popular efforts to support American family farmers and ranchers in the United States. Our Facebook presence has more than 30,000 members and continues to grow everyday. We have more than 3,000 Twitter followers.

As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization your financial donations are tax-exempt. Your support is needed and appreciated.

HOW IS YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT USED? ::  I Love Farmers...They Feed My Soul is not a club or member organization, but rather an all-volunteer grassroots movement among young people to be more assertive at sharing the amazing story of our family farmers and ranchers and the food they produce. We are not connected to any school or business. We are lead by young people. We depend on the sales of “agvocacy” apparel and industry donations to support our efforts. We have no employees and maintain a very low overhead, so your money goes to work immediately to advocate for food and agriculture.

Your financial support will help us:

  1. Travel to URBAN high school and college campuses nationwide to educate young people about the value of American family farmers and ranchers and the food they produce.
  2. Develop and maintain a robust, high traffic website as an authentic, reliable and objective source of food and agriculture information.
  3. Promote food and agriculture at non-agriculture events and places where young people congregate, i.e. skate parks, concerts, sports events.
  4. Develop leadership and advocacy skills among our youth volunteers. We also help create empowered consumers.
  5. Create develop and produce educational and promotional materials that can be distributed nationwide.
  6. Purchase outdoor advertising space in high traffic urban areas - i.e. roadside billboards – that support family farmers and ranchers.
  7. Create a unique, provocative and sustainable organization that is "in it for the long haul" in its efforts to support American family farmers and ranchers!
  8. Maintain an active presence on social media platforms that stimulates constructive conversations among a wide audience about food production.
