Piedra Falls

"Piedra Falls" is ride #7 originally published in the book “PAGOSA RIDES; Mountain Biking in and around Pagosa Springs” by Gary Hopkins.

The Piedra River watershed, also known as the “Upper Piedra”, is an area known for its “eye catching” scenery. Expansive meadows are cut by meandering streams, both surrounded by dramatic cliffs and peaks...here one experiences the full range of visual
delights that make the Colorado Rockies so special. Several forest roads invite the mountain biker to explore and enjoy this area. Two routes are suggested here, with the road to Piedra Falls described as the main route, and a ride to the Middle Fork trailhead as an option. Both routes end at the boundary of the Weminuche Wilderness. Bicycles are not permitted in wilderness areas.
