Blanco Basin Loop

"Blanco Basin Loop" is ride #11 originally published in the book “PAGOSA RIDES; Mountain Biking in and around Pagosa Springs” by Gary Hopkins.

This route uses primitive roads to loop through the hills and drainages of the Blanco River Basin. The ride passes through a variety of vegetation types: grassy swales, aspen groves, oak-studded hills and conifer forests. Well into the ride you ford the Blanco River. Elk and deer are often seen along the way. Mud and heat can be problems; do the ride when roads at this elevation are dry and the weather cool.
