Xianwei Li was born in Chongqing, China. He obtained a B.E. degree in Automation in 2009 from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and from the same university, he obtained M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Control Science and Engineering in 2011 and 2015, respectively. From February 2012 to September 2012 and from July 2014 to February 2015, he worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. From September 2015 to September 2017, he was a Research Fellow with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From October 2017 to March 2019, supported by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he was a Humboldt Research Fellow with Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany. Since April 2019, he has joined the Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, where he is currently a tenure-track associate professor.
