The Silent Barn Kitchen     THE SILENT BARN NEEDS YOU!!

As The Silent Barn heads towards a possible reopening, we've been trying to determine the best way to operate as a potentially rapidly expanding collective that would be necessary to run a new incarnation of The Silent Barn.

Silent Barn members Eli Dvorkin and Jordan Michael Amc are focusing on drafting these guidelines and work practices and Victoria Sobel recently suggested the Valve handbook as a helpful starting point for picking and choosing guidelines and explanations.

In our down time our small group of Chefs has been working hard in The Kitchen, but as we looking to make major expansions in out operation if anyone else has suggestions of models to look at for larger collectives that would be awesome!

The Silent Barn is very close to signing a lease on a very large and exciting property in Bushwick! We are in the process of looking for professional advice on a build out estimate so we can adequately negotiate a lease and acquire the proper funding for the project.

We specifically need professional advice on:

Fire suppression (egress)

Bar / Kitchen / Food Licenses

Beer / Wine / Liquor license

Public Assembly

Boilers

Plumbing

If you feel like you can give a professional opinion and/or estimate on any of the following in the next few days we are trying to figure these things out ASAP and would be more than happy to show you the space whenever is convenient for you.

Please let us know! We are very excited about this space! In order to move forward on this property we are going to need a lot of help as it requires some work, but we think the space will be worth the wait! It really is amazing...
