  • River Clean Up 2013!

Aug. 28- The Juniata River Clean Up hosted by Keep Huntingdon County Beautiful was a huge success last Sunday, August 25. Over twenty volunteers participated in the clean up including community members, Rothrock employees, and friends.  Rothrock Outfitters provided canoes and kayaks for participants who did not have boats. Volunteers paddled a two mile stretch of river and collected trash, diving down for empty beer cans, and scrambling over down trees for plastic bottles. Not one obstacle stood in the way of these community members and beautifying their river. Participants dragged boats through gravel bars and paddled cautiously as their hulls overflowed with trash. After 5 hours of rewarding work volunteers collected a total of over 40 tires, miscellaneous bicycles, cans, bottles, scrap metal, and more (the picture above depicts some of the trash collected).

  • Winter Paddling

When the air temp is under 20 swimming really is not a
fun time. There is a first for everything. This fella swam for
a few minutes through a couple of chilly holes on Trough Creek

  • Sandy brought the water up
After a less than impressive summer of low water
and constant work. It's time to get on some of the
more entertaining water available in the greater Huntingdon
    County Region.

Trough Creek came up to roughly 5500cfs for a day.
Kish Creek is still up. The Little J is cruising.

    Let's paddle.
