The selection for seven swimmers in each gender of each age group will be determined by the total number of points scored in each of the six selection events listed below at the Zone 2 Championship Meet on January 24-25, 2015 in Moraga, CA. The eighth swimmer for each gender of each age group will be a “coaches’ choice” to best enhance team’s competitiveness, not necessary on points scored. Photos from Officials Clinic on Oct 11, 2014

I want to thank all of you for making Pacific Swimming's 2014 LSC officials clinic a success. We received so many compliments regarding the information put forward and the fun people had at the clinic. The compliment that sticks most in my mind came from George Cleveland who has been officiating for over 40 years. George came up to me and said "Brian I didn't think I could be taught anything new but I was wrong". New friends were made and closer bonds were established between the already existing ones.. Over 300 people attended making this clinic the biggest yet. Putting together an event like we did is like baking a cake, leave out one ingredient and it just doesn't taste quite right.  That being said you can always make the cake a bit better and for next years clinic I think it can be done.

Father John, Thank you for trusting us and making this financially possible. No other chair would have stuck their neck out or believed like you have. Pacific was truly fortunate when you agreed to run for General Chair.

I take my hat off to each and everyone of you and look forward to working together in the future.

New USA Swimming Official Position introduced

posted Aug 20, 2013, 7:20 PM by Pacific Swimming Zone2   [ updated Aug 20, 2013, 7:58 PM ]

A new USA-S official position - Administrative Official has been introduced.  The responsibilities and requirements for this official are somewhat different than those of the Administrative Referee.   (This position does not follow the normal developmental progression for officials that goes from Stroke and Turn to Chief Judge, Starter, Referee etc.)  It has been created for parent volunteers who are interested in getting involved with only the "dry" side of swim meets and who do not wish to get involved in the "wet" side of swim meets (judging the swims, starting the races, etc.)

For more detailed information the Administrative Official position please see the Administrative Official description and Administrative Official Clinic Guideline below or in the Officials section.
