Zone All-Star Application live results and full application

The Zone 2 All-Star Team will comprise of eight girls and eight boys each from four age groups (8/Under, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14), for a total of sixty-four swimmers. The selection for seven swimmers in each gender of each age group will be determined by the total number of points scored in each of the six selection events listed below at the Zone 2 Championship Meet on January 28-29, 2017 in Moraga, CA. The eighth swimmer for each gender of each age group will be a “coaches’ choice” to best enhance team’s competitiveness, not necessarily on points scored. Only times achieved at the Zone 2 Championship Meet will be considered for selection.

Swimmers with the eighth and ninth highest total points in each gender of each age group will serve as alternates.

Selection Events by Age Groups:

8/U: 25-Free, 100-IM, 25-Fly, 25-Back, 25-Breast, 50-Free

9-10: 50-Free, 100-IM, 50-Fly, 50-Back, 50-Breast, 100-Free

11-12: 50-Free, 200-IM, 100-Fly, 100-Back, 100-Breast, 100-Free

13-14: 50-Free, 200-IM, 100-Fly, 100-Back, 100-Breast, 200-Free

Attached are full athlete and chaperone applications.  Please print out and have ready to turn in only your swimmer is selected.  Selections will be announced at the Zone 2 Championship Meet on Sunday, January 29, 2017. All (and only) selected swimmers and alternates must go to the All-Star Desk at the meet and submit a full application package, which includes:

a. Letter of Intent

b. Pacific Swimming Honor Code

c. Pacific Swimming Family and USAS Home Coach Participation Guide

d. Pacific Swimming Travel Policy

e. Medical Release Forms (with a copy of Medical Insurance Card)

f. Athlete Privacy Letter

g. non-refundable check of $20 (8/Under) or $35 (9/Over) payable to “Zone 2 Pacific Swimming” (please write swimmer’s name, gender and age group in Memo)

All forms must be completed, signed and submitted with a non-refundable check (co-pay) by 2:00pm on January 29,

New USA Swimming Official Position introduced

A new USA-S official position - Administrative Official has been introduced.  The responsibilities and requirements for this official are somewhat different than those of the Administrative Referee.   (This position does not follow the normal developmental progression for officials that goes from Stroke and Turn to Chief Judge, Starter, Referee etc.)  It has been created for parent volunteers who are interested in getting involved with only the "dry" side of swim meets and who do not wish to get involved in the "wet" side of swim meets (judging the swims, starting the races, etc.)

New Stroke and Turn Officials at 3 Levels

The new criteria for Stroke and Turn Officials has been finalized. This is the first of many to come in the contraction of Pacific Swimming Official levels to 3 only.

For details please see the attached file. There are a number of changes associated with the new 3 level S/T criteria.

1) Back ground Check reimbursement will be available for level 1 S/T officials.
2) Level 2 S/T are eligible to work most LSC level meets including JOs, Far Westerns, Senior I and II meets.

Timing Chair Assignment Process Guideline

Please review the attached guidelines provided for assigning timing chairs to be staffed by visiting teams.  Please provide the timing assignments to the Zone 2 webmaster or on the host team's website and include the site on the meet sheet.

New Pacific Swimming Officials Web Site

A website dedicated to Pacific Swimming Officials had been launched. This website is designed for Pacific Swimming Officials. It provides a single source of information for Officials.  Attached is the instruction on logging onto the website and creating your account. It is best to print out a hard copy of the instruction to follow the registration process.  You can access the website by CTRL /Click on the website link in the document.
