product and package design
design learning challenge 2012
In order to raise awareness of the industrial design field in secondary art students, we created a product and packaging design workshop geared towards middle school. Through this workshop, students will have the opportunity to work in teams and develop concepts for packaging for various real-world clients. They will hear from professionals in the field and learn about how to make prototypes of their ideas. Students will then market their ideas to their clients, and the winning design will be displayed in client's place of business. Below, students and staff members describe their thoughts about the design process as they participated in the workshop, redesigning the existing styrofoam lunch tray from the school cafeteria.
