September Kick Off & Crossover Ceremony

2:00pm - 8:30am
Hopkinton State Park, Split Rock Pavilion

With all that takes place on a Saturday afternoons, we will have a rolling start to the event. If you are able, activities including scouting skills, zip-line and games will begin at 2:00, another event will begin at 3:00 and den practice for the campfire skits will begin at 4:00. The Crossover ceremony will begin at 4:45 with a cookout dinner at 5:30. Each den will be responsible for providing a dessert, fruit or salad for the cookout. Dens have been assigned what food to bring. All families will need a tent and sleeping bags if you wish to stay over (we hope you do!). The boys should wear their Class A uniform (Scout shirts and hats). A pancake breakfast will be served in the morning followed by an 8:30 departure. Please print and sign the Consent Form and bring to the campout. 


$5.00 per person (you can pay at the event)


Please RSVP by Monday, 9/16/2013 to your Den Leader and let them know the # of kids (scouts & siblings) and # of adults for dinner and for breakfast! (so we can plan accordingly for food). It takes a lot of hands to have a successful campout and we'll be looking to see what you can do to help. You can sign up at registration when you arrive, but the Beltloop Coaches may need a little advance preparation.

Beltloop Coaches Needed!

This year we would like to allow the boys to earn 1-3 beltloops at our campout. Beltloops are fun and easy to earn for the boys. We will need at least 2 parents who can facilitate each station and walk the boys through the steps of earning the beltloop. Information for what needs to be done is available in the links below (you just need to do the first 3 for the BELTLOOP, NOT the pin - that is much more involved!). It will not be possible for all boys to earn all 4 beltloops, but these are options we can choose from. We would like to offer at least 2 or 3 different options and boys will likely have time to earn 1-3 beltloops, depending on how things progress.

Den Responsibilities

Dens 3, 4, 5 & 6 - Bring Salads (of any creative!)

Dens 1, 2, 7 & 9 - Bring Desserts

Dens 10, 11 & 12 - Bring fresh fruit

All Dens Set up
  • Set out trash barrel.
  • Put up any necessary sign ins, posters.
  • Help set up any equipment, set up info table, etc.
1:30pm - 2:00pm
Den (TBD) Flag Bearers (Enter)
  • Assemble flags.
  • Den Leader will call orders.
  • Scouts bring flags in, 
  • Lead Pledge of Allegiance, 
  • Sing song.
4:20pm - 4:40pm
    All Dens Clean up
    • Take out trash.
    • Check bathrooms to ensure they are clean, flushed, no trash.
    • Ensure site is in excellent shape before leaving.
    6:00pm - 6:30pm
