JANUARY NEWSLETTER

The second part of our Scouting year is in full gear! Parents need to focus on their son’s achievements and ensure they are able to finish on time. We also have a full slate of activities, fundraisers, service projects, rank advancement, camp-outs, and much more. Most of the content in this newsletter is new so read carefully, check the website for the latest updates and remember to have fun!

  2. Pinewood Derby - March 2nd -Our pinewood derby will be March 2nd at 9am in the Celia Hays cafeteria. Weigh in will be the night before at 6:30pm on March 1st in the same Celia Hays Cafeteria. Please see the “pinewood derby” link on the pack website for more information.
  3. Pinewood Workshops- Feb 2nd - Our leaders have offered up their own homes and tools to help your son build his pinewood derby car if needed. The Tigers & Wolves will have a time slot from 9:00am - Noon that day and the Bears & Webelos will have a time slot from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Jeff Rathje’s house.. Ask Jeff if you have any questions.
  4. Blue and Gold - Febuary 20th - This year we will be selling baked goods for a fundraiser for the Pack. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Colbert family. Devon Colbert was a volunteer fireman for Rockwall and a full time fireman in Garland. He was hit by a driver that ran a stop sign on John K ning and 66 and was paralysed. He has two small children and friends that are in our Pack. Please ask Cayce Carr and Jeff Rathje how you can help our Blue and Gold be a memorable one.
  5. Scouting for food - Febuary ?? Cayce Carr will be leading our pack for this year’s scouting for food. Emails will be sent out with more information soon.

Spring Campout - Our leaders are coordinating our spring campout and it will likely be one your boy never forgets. If you can help out with the planning of the spring campout please let Vince Graffagnino know. He can use help with simple things such as reserving dates at campgrounds.
