Cub Scouts has activities for the entire family to enjoy together. If your son is in Kindergarten through fifth grades, it's time to put down the Xbox get outdoors and have some fun.
 
Through fun activities, challenging adventures and community service projects, Cub Scouts make new friends and discover the importance of cooperation, citizenship, responsibility and physical fitness in their everyday lives.

***Some events below are managed and planned by GSLAC, our council, and therefore you will need to register with them in order to participate.  All efforts are made to get correct details from GSLAC, but please refer to the event description itself (via the included link) rather than this website for accuracy.  Also, be aware that most GSLAC events require pre-registration (and payment), and do not normally allow for walk-in participants the same day of the event.***


Den Meetings: December 11, 2018 at 7:00 PM, Location - South Middle School Cafeteria

Each den (boys of the same age and rank) will have a meeting on the third Tuesday of the month.  Dens will cover requirements for rank advancement and electives. Tigers and Lions attend their den meetings with their adult partners; but Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scouts can attend den meetings on their own.  This is a prearranged reservation with the school where the cafeteria area is shared for our use, check with your Den Leader for your schedule.

While the meetings include games and other activities that are fun for the boys, program delivery is the main goal. Boys participate in activities and work on projects that are related to an adventure and that help them learn the skills they need to progress in rank. The boys also prepare to do their part in the monthly pack meeting.

STEM University 2018:  December 15, 2018 at 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM, Location - UMSL JC Penny Building

Who: Cub Scouts (Wolf rank and higher) and Scout leaders

When: Saturday, December 15, 2018

Time: 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: JC Penny Building, 1 University Blvd. Saint Louis, MO 63121  Park in West Drive garage.

Cost: $16.00 per youth and $10 per Leader/Adult. Includes: Lunch (pizza, soda, & cookies), STEM U patch, and program materials.  Payment: MasterCard, VISA and Discover. Payments and registration will only be accepted online.

Registration Deadline: Sunday, December 9, 2018 or when capacity reached.  Early bird of $16 youth/$10 adult by December 2, price goes up $5 after.  NO late registrations or walk-ins. Out of Council Scouts are welcome to enroll.

This year Cub Scouts will be completing the Out of this World! NOVA (see requirements here: https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Nova-Out-of-This-World-2018.pdf).

The monthly pack meeting brings together boys from every den, their leaders, and their families, to 
participate in a large-scale event that serves as a showcase for everything the boys have learned and done in their individual den meetings. The pack meeting gives the boys a larger experience beyond their own den, and helps them to connect their individual activities to the entire Cub Scouting program.
Our meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  Make sure your scout looks his best.

Pinewood Derby Test and Tune:  January 8, 2019 at 6:00 PM, Location - Francis Howell North High School

We will have the wood shop and a large hall to meet.  There will be a partial track for testing, all our tuning materials; scales, graphite, parts, weights, etc.

The scouts will need to bring their cars and a parent/adult to help them.

Pinewood Derby Car Impound: January 11, 2019 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Location - South Middle School Cafeteria


All derby cars that will be raced with the pack must be surrendered during impound, including parent and sibling cars. Each car is tested and weighed to ensure that the car meets all of the pack official pinewood derby rules. All of the cars are then sequestered by the Pack Pinewood Derby chair in preparation for the race.

Don't miss this great Cub Scout Tradition!

Scouts will race their cars against each other for trophies and bragging rights!  Scouts will each receive a car from the pack.

Come for pancakes and sausage breakfast from 8 AM - 9 AM. The racing will begin after breakfast.

Blue and Gold Banquet:  February 24, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Location - 

Pack 858 celebrates Scouting Anniversary Week in February with a birthday party called the Blue and Gold Banquet.  The Blue and Gold Banquet is the highlight of the year. It brings families together for an evening of fun and cheer.


The purpose of the Blue and Gold Banquet is to celebrate the pack's anniversary, thank pack leaders and other adults who have helped the pack, and inspire the leaders, scouts, and parents. The agenda for the night includes games, awards, and our official ceremony where our AOL Webelos Scouts crossover to Boy Scouts. 

Make plans to attend this annual celebration dinner to recognize the accomplishments of our cub scouts of Pack 858. 

The event includes a buffet style dinner. The cost for the dinner is $10.00 per attendee. All scouts should wear their Class A, official uniform.  Sign-up HERE!
