Cub Scouts has activities for the entire family to enjoy together. If your son is in Kindergarten through fifth grades, it's time to put down the Xbox get outdoors and have some fun.
 
Through fun activities, challenging adventures and community service projects, Cub Scouts make new friends and discover the importance of cooperation, citizenship, responsibility and physical fitness in their everyday lives.

Summer Events


City Museum: July 22, 2018 at 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Location - City Museum


We are organizing a group visit for our scout families to the City Museum https://www.citymuseum.org/

Groups can get admission at rates of $7/each for the whole family, this does not include the rooftop which would be $5 more.  More details to come, please indicate your interest to attend HERE!

Pack Picnic & Water Park:  August 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Location - Wapelhorst Park


Come enjoy a Sunday afternoon with family, friends, food and a WATER PARK!  Festivities will begin at 3:00 at Shelter # 2 where we will enjoy food, games and the playground. Then, from 5:00-7:00, Pack 858 will be treating your family to an evening at the Wapelhorst Water Park! 

Please use the link to sign your family up. A headcount will be needed for the pool, a few days prior to our arrival. The pack will provide meat for the picnic and asks that each family contribute a side dish or dessert, please indicate on the sign up.

New Scout Year Events

Scout Night at the River City Rascals: September 1, 2018 at 6:30 PM, Location - Carshield Field


It's all about Scouting at the River City Rascals game.  Throughout the night, the Rascals will have various Scouting-themed activities including in-between inning contests.  After the game, the Scouts in attendance will be able to camp on the field overnight and enjoy a movie on our inflatable big screen!  Breakfast will also be provided.


All Tickets are $20 with every member receiving a custom River City Rascals Scout Night patch and access to the campout.  All Scouts will be included in a pre-game parade around the field.  Please indicate your interest to attend on this sheet.  We will be coordinating a group for sitting together and paying as a pack.  Please Sign-up and pay by July 27th if you want to attend with the group.  Paypal link or pay Robert Contreras personally, he will be coordinating the event

Popcorn Kickoff: September 4, 2017 at 7:00 PM, Location - South Middle School Cafeteria


Please join us for the new year and learn about our popcorn fundraising event for the Cub Scouts pack. Popcorn sales can generate enough income to financially support your Scouting program for the entire year! Money from popcorn can be used to cover the cost of camps, pack activities, equipment, and summer camp. Cub Scouts can get their camps paid for and win valuable prizes based on their sales totals. Please attend to get the details of the programs and start selling.

This year we will be hosting show-n-sell's at participating vendors as well as issuing forms for the Cub Scouts to sell take orders on their own.

Help your scout start off on the right foot with selling popcorn by working as a group to sell outside this fishing and outdoor store.  Scouts will sign up in groups of Three, for shifts that will sell popcorn that has already arrived to patrons of this great store.  Scouts should be in full Class "A" uniforms - Blue Shirts and Blue Shorts (no athletic pants or draw strings).  Don't miss this opportunity to sell a large portion of your popcorn goal.  More information about popcorn can be found on our popcorn website.  Popcorn sales will be divided by the scouts who participate during each day of show and sell.

Each den (boys of the same age and rank) will have a meeting on the third Tuesday of the month.  Dens will cover requirements for rank advancement and electives. Tigers and Lions attend their den meetings with their adult partners; but Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scouts can attend den meetings on their own.

While the meetings include games and other activities that are fun for the boys, program delivery is the main goal. Boys participate in activities and work on projects that are related to an adventure and that help them learn the skills they need to progress in rank. The boys also prepare to do their part in the monthly pack meeting.

The monthly pack meeting brings together boys from every den, their leaders, and their families, to  
participate in a large-scale event that serves as a showcase for everything the boys have learned and done in their individual den meetings. The pack meeting gives the boys a larger experience beyond their own den, and helps them to connect their individual activities to the entire Cub Scouting program.
Our meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  Make sure your scout looks his best.

Each scout should wear his "Class A" blue shirt, blue dress shorts, neckerchief, and slide.

GSLAC Cub Launch: September 29, 2018 at 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Location - Beaumont Scout Ranch


Cub Launch is a one day event where a Cub Scout will get to experience all things Cub Scouting:

  • Fishing (a portable pond with real fish will be at Beaumont this year, by Cabela’s!)
  • BB guns
  • Slingshots
  • Archery
  • Bounce Houses (at select locations)
  • STEM experiments
  • Community guest presenters
    • At Beaumont: Botanical Gardens, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Eureka Fire Department, Missouri Conservationists and more!
  • PLUS, earn the Bobcat requirement! (The first advancement a Cub Scout can get.)

This event is perfect for brand new Cub Scouts as well as Cub Scouts who want to spend a fun Saturday Scouting!  The cost is $10 per Cub Scout and Cub Scout-age siblings.
