Cub Scouts has activities for the entire family to enjoy together. If your son is in the first through fifth grades, or 6 to 10 years old, it's time to put down the Xbox get outdoors and have some fun.

Den Meetings: September 19, 2017 at 7:00 PM, Location - South Middle School Cafeteria

Each den (boys of the same age and rank) will have a meeting on the third Tuesday of the month.  Dens will cover requirements for rank advancement and electives. Tigers attend their den meetings with their adult partners; but Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scouts can attend den meetings on their own.

While the meetings include games and other activities that are fun for the boys, program delivery is the main goal. Boys participate in activities and work on projects that are related to an adventure and that help them learn the skills they need to progress in rank. The boys also prepare to do their part in the monthly pack meeting.

Mini Block Derby: Saturday, September 23 at 8:00 AM, Location - South Middle School Gym

Join us for a family event filled with mini block building and racing.  $5 per entry.
8:00 AM - Doors open and kits available for sale.  You'll have 90 minutes to build your car.  Bring what you need to build your car, the pack will also make some bricks available for use.
9:30 AM - Car impound begins.  All cars that will race must be registered and certified ready for racing.  As soon as all cars are in we'll begin racing.

Popcorn Show and Sell: Saturday, September 23 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Location - Lowes @Mexico and Hwy K

Help your scout start off on the right foot with selling popcorn by working as a group to sell outside this home improvement store.  Scouts will sign up in groups of four for shifts that will sell popcorn that has already arrived to patrons of 
this great
store.  Scouts should be in full Class "A" uniforms - Blue Shirts and Blue Shorts (no athletic or draw strings).  Don't miss this opportunity to sell a large portion of your popcorn goal.  More information about popcorn can be found on our popcorn website.  Popcorn sales will be divided by the scouts who participate during each day of show and sell.

Neighborhood Popcorn Sales: Sunday, September 24 from 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM, Location - Progress South Elementary

This Sunday, September 24th. Will meet at PSE parking lot, near baseball field. Doing 2 shifts. 1st Shift is 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, meet @ 11:30 am, PSE parking lot. 2nd Shift is 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, meet @ 3:30 pm, PSE parking lot. New and less experienced scouts will be paired up with veteran scouts &/or leaders to walk neighborhoods. This is a fantastic way for Scouts to get jump on meeting their popcorn goals. participate in a large-scale event that serves as a showcase for everything the boys have learned and done in their individual den meetings. The pack meeting gives the boys a larger experience beyond their own den, and helps them to connect their individual activities to the entire Cub Scouting program.  
Our Gathering activity starts at 6:45 PM and the meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  Make sure your scout looks his best.

Cub Launch: October 7, 2017 at 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Location - Wentzville United Methodist Church


Cub Launch is a one day event where a Cub Scout will get to experience all things Cub Scouting including fishing, shooting sports, STEM experiments, community guest presenters, and much more! New this year… every Cub Scout will have the opportunity to earn their Bobcat requirement! The first advancement a Cub Scout can get. This event is perfect for brand new Cub Scouts as well as Cub Scouts who want to spend a fun Saturday Scouting!
WHO: Cub Scouts and Siblings $10 (the whole family is invited!)

WHAT: Outdoor activities include, fishing, BB guns, archery, slingshots, STEM experiments, leatherworking, earn the Bobcat Badge, horseback riding, campfire cooking, and much more! (each location’s activities are subject to change)

All locations will be set up open-house style, so come and go as you please. Stay for a couple hours or the entire time, whatever is best for you.

Picnic lunches are encouraged but concessions and trading post souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Scouting for Food, Bag Drop-Off:  November 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Location - Progress South Elementary Parking Lot



Scouting for Food is the Boy Scouts of America's largest one-day food drive, raising 15% of area food pantries' supplies yearly.

Be a part of this nation-wide tradition as the Cub Scouts drop off food bags to be filled for a food collection the following weekend.   Scouts will gather outside on the PSE parking lot with their Dens and will be assigned a neighborhood/geographic area to hang bags on doors. Parents are needed to transport the boys, ensure safety and help make this event a success.

Scouting for Food, Food Pick-Up:  November 18, 2017 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Location - Progress South Elementary




Scouting for Food is a fun day for Scouts to pick up food donated by families in local neighborhoods.

Scouts will gather at PSE with their Dens and will be assigned a neighborhood/geographic area in which they will pick up food bags from porches.  Parents are needed to transport the boys, load food into vehicles, ensure safety and help make this event a success.

The food is brought back to PSE where the Scouts (and parents) sort and load the food onto trucks for delivery to the Hope Food Pantry in St. Charles.

Pinewood Derby Car Impound: January 19, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Location - South Middle School Cafeteria


All derby cars that will be raced with the pack must be surrendered during impound, including parent and sibling cars. Each car is tested and weighed to ensure that the car meets all of the pack official pinewood derby rules. All of the cars are then sequestered by the Pack Pinewood Derby chair in preparation for the race.

Blue and Gold Banquet:  February 25, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Location  - Knights of Columbus Hall

Pack 858 celebrates Scouting Anniversary Week in February with a "birthday party" called the blue and gold banquet.  The blue and gold banquet is the highlight of the year. It brings families together for an evening of fun and cheer.

The purpose of the blue and gold banquet is to celebrate the pack's anniversary, thank pack leaders and other adults who have helped the pack, and inspire the leaders, Scouts, and parents. The agenda for the night includes games, awards, and our official ceremony where our Webelos 2s move to Boy Scouts.
Make plans to attend this annual celebration dinner to recognize the accomplishments of our Cub Scouts of Pack 858.

The event includes a buffet style dinner. The cost for the dinner is $10.00 per attendee. All scouts should wear their Class A, official uniform.
