There are many great parents who have offered their time and talents over the past few years and now are moving on with their scout to Boy Scouts.  We appreciate all they have done to make the Pack go.

Now we need your help.  We have a number of spots that need to be filled for the upcoming few years.  Attached is a layout of who has/is helping and where we need help.  You will see a number of names listed a number of times.  We are trying to avoid this and get more people involved to help lighten the load.  These are great opportunities to get involved in a different way for our great Pack.  All the work that goes on is for the benefit of your boys.

If you are interested in filling one of the roles needed, please see me or one of the other leaders and we will get you started!  If you have questions about a role, see one of us.  If you see something that interests you, but already has a name there, I am sure there is more of that work to go around!  We need and appreicate all the help we can get.

See the attachment, and look for the yellow-highlighted boxes.  Or, just talk to any leader in the pack, and we'll find something that matches your interests.

Join us for the Blue & Gold Banquet

WEPAY:          https://www.wepay.com/events/699-uss-yorktown

Please join Pack 699 next year for our annual Overnight Pack Trip to the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point near Charleston, SC.  Due to the lengthy drive, we have planned this trip over President’s Day Weekend to allow for travel time.  Scouts will sleep in the berthing areas where the sailors once slept, and learn about naval and aviation history.  The 2-night camping package includes self-guided tours, meals and entertainment, plus an excursion to Ft. Sumter National Monument.

Several of you have asked me if another parent could come onboard the ship just for the Saturday day activities.  I contacted Patriots Point today and they told me that is definitely an option (especially for those parents with small children under 6 who cannot sleep overnight).  The price of day admission is $11 for children 6-11, and $18 for adults (12 and older).  Children under 6 are free with adult admission, and the hours are 9:30am - 6:00pm.  Your meals would not be included, but there is food vending that you could purchase separately and eat with the group.

If you would like to participate in ALL of the activities (including after-hours and meals) but sleep elsewhere, that is also an option.  You would still need to pay full price, but this would give younger siblings a chance to participate also.

Contact trip@pack699.org for more info.

Deadline to register and pay for this event is November 1, 2013.
