Leaders

Being a leader doesn't mean you have to start from scratch. Resources abound, and a Pack 39 Leaders Guide is available in the downloads section of this page. Watch for FAQs to be added to this page soon.

For new leaders, two of the best places to start are So You are a New Den Leader and New Den Leader Box Workbook. Both of these are in the downloads section at the bottom of this page. Den leaders now have their own leader books, available in the Dens' Den Boxes or for purchase at the Scout Shop. Electronic versions are available.

The Guide to Safe Scouting is available as a mobile app, so you always know if what you are doing is safe for the Scouts you are leading.

More leader-specific resources can be found on Cubsource.org and by exploring the Cub Scout section of the BSA Website.

Leader Training
Training is key to any leader, new and experienced. To see what makes a trained leader, please read What Makes a Trained Leader in the downloads section at the bottom of this page. The GSMC offers live training events, look on our Calendar page for upcoming training opportunities (including the monthly Cub Scout Roundtables) and on the GSMC Training Page.

The BSA offers a number of online training courses through their Online Training Center.
