Spy Museum Trip - DC March 11-12, 2017

International Spy – National Treasure Weekend Washington, DC

Saturday, March 11th – Sunday, March 12th, 2017


Ready for a weekend of high adventure, historical importance, and espionage as you meet a real life master spy, attend an disguise workshop, become a James Bond Villian, and sleepover in the same room with James Bond’s real 1964 Aston Martin DB-5 from the movie Goldfinger?  
This is your chance as we have arranged an action packed weekend for the Cub Scouts of Pack 27 !



March 11-12, 2017.  Here is our agenda & your trip includes:

Saturday Mar 11th, 2017

06:00am – Departure from AOOL parking lot via Car pooling for approx 5 hour drive to Washington, DC.  ALL SCOUTS MUST WEAR CLASS A UNIFORMS ON SATURDAY as in above pictures from previous Spy Museum/DC trip. Sunday they may wear whatever they like.  Parking garage address & coupon:

12:00pm – Estimated arrival at the Washington Monument for a tour and ride to the top to get a bird’s eye view of Washington, DC  and visit National Archives to see original Declaration of Independence & US Constitution

03:00pm – Congressional guided tour of the U.S. Capital

05:30pm Dinner at Hard Rock Café in Washington DC

Operation Secret Slumber @ International Spy Museum

07:00PM – 8:00PM                          Unload Cars - Registration & Disguise Workshop

8:00PM – 10:00PM                          SPY Scavenger Hunt – Meet Master Real Life Ex-Spy

10:00PM – 10:30PM                        Spy Snack / Debrief and Deploy for Operation Lights Out

11:00PM – 11:30PM                        Setup to sleep in the Museum galleries

11:30PM                                              Lights Out


Sunday November 9thth, 2014

7:15AM – 7:30AM                            Wake Up and Pack up

7:30AM – 8:00AM                            Light Breakfast

8:00AM – 9:00AM                            Closing Activities

9:00AM – 9:15AM                            Conclusion and Departure*

*At the conclusion of the program, the Pack is invited to visit the Museum & Gift Shop.   

9:00AM – Load cars with Luggage & Sleeping gear

10:00AM – Scouts will have a choice to visit the Smithsonian Air & Space or American History Museums

02:00PM Head back to NJ

07:00PM  Estimated arrival back at AOOL


Trip includes:  Overnight at the international Spy Museum in Washington DC with light snack for evening & breakfast.  Tickets for Capital & Washington Monument Tours.  Dinner at the Hard Rock Café 
Not included are lunch on Saturday, November 8th, lunch on Sunday, November 9th, any souvenirs or overnight parking for your vehicle (est $23) . The trip is open to all Cub Scouts, siblings over 7 years old, and parents.  We will try to car pool down to DC by meeting at AOOL Sat morning to limit the number of vehicles that would have to pay overnight parking.

Trip Costs

  • Registered Cub Scouts  = $110 each

  • Registered Scout Adult Leaders = $90 each

  • All others (Parents & siblings - 7 or older only) = $120 each

Payments must be received by Nov 15th. The earlier the better as this trip will SELL OUT months in advance, so I will book slots as soon as payment arrives.  As of today, Sept 1st there are 60 spaces available.  When we last did this trip in Nov 2014 we had 38 scouts & adults attend.  Trip costs are Non-Refundable. If you can not make the event for any reason you may either find someone else willing to take your place or forfeit the trip costs.  Space fills up FAST and we will book spots on a first come first paid basis. If we run out of space your money will be refunded and we will keep you on a standby list in case someone needs to back out.

EVERYONE MUST SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER ATTACHED BELOW FROM THE MUSEUM.  EVERY ATTENDEE MUST HAVE ONE FOR CHECKIN AT THE SPY MUSEUM.
