Cub Scout Leader Training 
Every Scout deserves a TRAINED LEADER!  Click here for a detailed listing of required courses to qualify as a TRAINED LEADER.

"Fast Start" and "Leader Specific Training" is for each leadership position and their assistants: Tiger Cub Den Leader, Cub Scout (Wolf, Bear) Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Cubmaster, Pack Committee Chair

 

New "This Is Scouting" training replaces the "New Leader Essentials".  "This Is Scouting" can be found on the BSA's on-line Learning Center and can be completed on-line!  This is a required course, along with the Leader Specific training to qualify as a TRAINED LEADER.

Resources
There are several websites that provide den meeting plans and/or materials.  I use Fast Tracks to help me plan my den meetings to ensure that my boys will make rank by the Blue and Gold Banquet.  Other well known and widely used sites are:

* Round Tables (Akela District) meet on the second (2nd) Thursday each month, during the Cub Scouting Year, at the Wesley Memorial UMC in High Point at 7:00 PM.  Round Tables are not only a great source for den meeting plans, but is also allows leaders to network with other leaders within the Akela District.  Click on the following link to view the Akela District's 2010-2011 Calendar. http://www.bsaonsc.org/Documents/calendars/AKELA%202010-2011calendar.pdf
 
** Committee Meetings are held at Archdale Friends Meeting, usually in the Genesis Class Room.  The Date, Time and Location will always be announced at the top of this page.  Committee Meetings are open to parents, leaders and anyone else who would like to be involved in the Pack's planning, budgeting and general decision process.
