Welcome to Pack 1115!
We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to new families interested in our incredible Cub Scout pack. At Pack 1115, we take great pride in providing an enriching and adventurous experience, helping our boys develop important skills and build great friendships.
As a member of our pack, your child will have the opportunity to engage in a wide array of exciting activities that promote character development, leadership, and a love for the great outdoors. From camping and hiking to exploring nature and learning valuable life skills, we offer a well-rounded program that ensures each scout grows in confidence and self-reliance.
By joining our Cub Scout pack, your family becomes part of a close-knit community that supports one another through the ups and downs of scouting. We strongly believe that family involvement is crucial to a scout's success, and we encourage parents to actively participate in our pack's activities. Whether it's lending a helping hand during our service projects, sharing your expertise during workshops, or cheering on your scout at pack events, your involvement will make a positive impact on your child's scouting journey.
The scouting year follows the school year, September thru June.
We meet at:

CUB SCOUT DENS & RANKS
In Cub Scouts, a child progresses from rank to rank, learning new skills as they go. As they go, the requirements get more challenging to match their new skills and abilities. Cub Scout advancement includes a wide range of group and individual activities kids enjoy. More importantly, the activities are carefully selected to encourage moral, physical, and intellectual development.
CUB SCOUTS DO FUN THINGS WHILE LEARNING
Cubs learn about their world in fun and exciting ways! They get to wear a cool uniform, visit interesting places, and see new things. They play all kinds of sports and build stuff like racecars and bird houses.
Projects in woodworking, leather-working, and sculpture teach planning and patience while giving confidence
Outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, and fishing convey an appreciation for nature's majesty and teach the importance of preserving our environment.
CUB SCOUT RANKS
Lion Cub - Kindergarten
Bobcat
Tiger - 1st Grade
Wolf - 2nd Grade
Bear - 3rd Grade
Webelos - 4th and 5th Grade
Arrow of Light
LION CUB - KINDERGARTEN
The Lion Cub program has exciting indoor and outdoor activities specifically designed for kindergarten age youth and their adult partner. Adult partners (guardians) are there to support and guide throughout the experience. At the conclusion of their kindergarten year, the Lion Cub will transition to Tiger Cubs where they'll earn the Bobcat badge and continue through Cub Scouting.
BOBCAT
No matter what age or grade a youth joins Cub Scouting, they must earn their Bobcat badge before he can advance to any other rank. A youth must complete the Bobcat requirements, which include:
Learn and say the Cub Scout motto, the Scout Oath, and the Scout Law and tell what they mean
Show the Cub Scout sign, salute, and handshake and tell what they mean
With a parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide"
Calendar (Click on event for more info)
Annual Dues ($280 by Nov 10th)
What:
Youth Dues: $280 (by Nov 10th)
Youth Dues: $300 (Nov 11 - Nov 30)
Youth Dues: 2nd+ sibling(s): $140
The number one way to reduce our dues is by fundraising via popcorn. A family can have 1/2 their dues refunded ($140) by selling $1000+. This brings the cost of dues back down to where they were last year - before inflation and the additional fees from Council. We want this to be a driving incentive for the parents so that they are involved and make it a priority. For some of our families this refund could be financially significant and we want to make this as achievable as possible.

Aug 3 - Parent/ Leader Meeting
What: Our first Parent/ Leader meeting of the season.
When: Thurs. Aug 3, 7:00 pm
Where:
Dana Jones Home
9907 Rand Drive
Burke, Va
Who: committee members, leaders, volunteers any and all parents!
Why: These gatherings are where the planning and decision making happens so that we can be sure our pack meetings are fun and focused on the kids. It's a chance for leaders to share what they have coming up and keep everyone informed, and also for parents to provide their feedback and ask questions. This gathering is specifically for adults, not scouts.
