Graduate Students

Belel Ait Oumeziane
baitoume [at] purdue.edu
Belel is a 4th-year student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. He received his B.A from the University of Virginia and worked as a lab manager at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he conducted research looking at the psychophysiological correlates of hedonic processing and anhedonia in mood disorders. His research interests include using event-related potentials (ERPs) to explore how the brain processes rewards (e.g., monetary & social) and how these processes are related to various psychopathologies. Belel fenced foil during undergrad and is an avid Lakers fan.

Kaylin Hill
kbeckwit [at] purdue.edu
Kaylin is a 4th-year student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program.  Kaylin went to Butler University as an undergraduate (shout-out to the Lineweaver Lab) and previously studied affect in grieving children. Currently, she is interested in emotion, how we can track it with different technologies, and its relation to disorders and outcomes. The coolest thing about her is that she once nurtured back to health a kitten who had been shot. The kitten still lives with her and is named Tooka--because he took a bullet.

Keisha Novak
kdnovak1 [at] purdue.edu
Keisha is a 3rd-year student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. Keisha graduated in 2009 from Missouri State University, and subsequently worked several years in community mental health settings with clients diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses. From there, she worked for IU conducting research for clinical trials investigating the prevention of cortical erosion in schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Soon after, she completed her Masters degree at Ball State University where she focused on research related to EEG and schizotypal personality traits in a healthy population. Currently, she is interested in ERP and other psychophysiological measures to explore information processing abnormalities, specifically in mood and psychotic disorders. Fun facts about Keisha: She served 7 years in the Air Force, and hopes to one day rescue all the homeless kittens in Lafayette.
