Resident Assistant (RA)  – From time to time we need to recruit graduate college students, or in limited cases undergraduate students, whose field of study relates to the PTI program to serve as Resident Assistants.  Each Resident Assistant receives free on-site apartment style room and board in exchange for services rendered.  Basically, the RA provides on-call and on-site coverage during the evenings and weekends for the PTI program.  Their primary role is to provide support in the event of an emergency. However, as one might imagine, when dealing with a mix of active young adults, there are any number of questions that might arise with regard to such subjects such as: housekeeping, laundry, budgeting, meal planning, apartment management such as temperature settings or changing light bulbs, and social interaction.  The professional staff is always on-call in the event the RA requires assistance.

The RA is not permitted to physically lift or assist a resident unless the situation is life threatening.  Further the RA is not permitted to transport residents or administer medications.  In order to be considered for the RA position all candidates must pass a BCI&I and/or FBI background check and complete all training as required by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (paid for by PTI).

Thank you for considering PTI.
