Oxton has 26+ volunteer 'Playspace and Playing Field Carers'

Volunteers are assigned on a weekly rota twice a year for litter-picking and if they notice any equipment or surfacing has been damaged, report this for appropriate recording and action.

This all helps to keep the play area and playing pitch areas tidy and safe for users in between the routine monthly safety inspections by the Parish Council’s Oxton Playspace Maintenance Team which supplement the official annual inspection and risk assessment each summer.   By keeping on top of any maintenance/safety issues, we will be able to enjoy these playspace and playing pitch facilities for many years to come.

If you see things that you are happy to deal with e.g. picking up some litter, please do so as the rota is just an attempt to try to have baseline continual cover.  If you have any concerns, please get in touch so appropriate action can be taken as soon as possible.

If you would like to volunteer to help look after the playspace in this way and help out on the rota, please get in touch.
