Our Bay Area Nest

we recently moved to the San Francisco Bay area and are continuing to decorate our place. its a work in progress and I'll update as things get put together.

Kitchen

yes, we have a lot of stuff on top of our refrigerator. we desperately need a pantry. that will come along with a house someday.

Dining Room

table is from the Hatton collection at Cost Plus World Market. we have old IKEA dining chairs that are falling apart right now. they'll have to do until we're able to get something new. I love the look of the rattan chairs with the farmhouse look of the table, but hubs isn't too keen on the idea. another option is slipcovered chairs, but I'm afraid they may be too formal for the table. DH doesn't really like those either, but what does he know?

my vision [a lovely photoshop by moi] but with 2 more chairs [I'm not that photoshop savvy]...

I also love the look of mixing wood chairs with slipcovered chairs. I'm thinking of getting the rattan chairs for around the table for all the time, then getting two white slipcovered armchairs to sit in the corners of our dining room [when we have a larger one] for when the table is in extended mode. or maybe the rattan and slipcovered chairs would be too much together. hmmmm.

Audubon prints that I ordered for the dining room [that have yet to be put up]

the rug [matching runner is in the kitchen] that I would like for under the kitchen table:

the Hatton buffet at Cost Plus (that matches our dining room table) that I would like to get sometime before they discontinue the line.

Living Room

couch is Ekeskog from IKEA. chair is Hamilton from Target. entertainment center, coffee table and end table are the Rhys collection from Pottery Barn. hopefully window treatments will be coming soon.

Balcony

we're so happy to finally have a balcony. we had no outdoor space in L.A., so we're ecstatic to be able to grill out and let the dogs hang out there.

Entryway/Hallway

I <3 our little message center [from Target]. its the perfect place to write little notes to each other. along the other wall: our signature mat, along with a few framed engagement and wedding photos [with a doggie in the background].

2nd Bedroom/Office

AKA DH's room. far from inspirational, and this is probably the cleanest it will ever be.

Hall Bath

I want to eventually replace the shower curtain with an all white one. and don't get me started on the poor placement of the towel rod. our apartment is newly renovated and I think they were 5 minutes from the end of their shift when they installed it.

Master Bedroom

complete with dog [the big black blob on the floor]. I'm not totally ecstatic about the wall color [color is Glidden's Smoke Grey; I originally wanted a dark tan like we had in L.A.], but hubs decided on this one. sucks, too, because this is the only room that we painted in our apartment. and we need a new duvet. this one doesn't seem to want to cover the entire bed lengthwise. bed is Noresund from IKEA. dresser and nightstands are the Hemnes collection from IKEA. lamps are from Target. curtains are Waverly from Target. saucer chair from Pier 1.

the dresser wall. we'll eventually get an LCD tv to stick up on the dresser. I hate the bulkiness of the current one we have. and that big rectangular thing is an air conditioner. its ugly, but we're soooo glad to finally have one.

the chair [Ektorp from IKEA] that I want to replace the wicker saucer chair in there now.

Master Bath

I just bought this floral toile shower curtain from Target.

now I need to find prints to go with it. I'm thinking these Gorham prints:

Furbabies

the white one is Cammie, a shiba inu/husky mix. the black one is Kona, a black lab/golden retriever mix. they're our babies and we spoil them rotten!
