FNF: How is the new album coming along?

Adam: It's done! I'm excited.

FNF: When can we expect it to drop?
Adam:
Blast off is September 1st.  I'm gonna go out and buy a nice fitting space suit. It's gonna be intense.

FNF: You seem to be writing about a wide variety of topics. Where exactly do you find inspiration?
Adam: Coffee table books in Barnes and Noble stores, travel guides, Super 8 hotel rooms, Jacque Cousteau documentaries and listening to Matt Decker talk about basketball in his sleep.

FNF: You've been one of Myspace's "top artists" for quite some time now. How much do you feel networking sites such as Myspace have helped in spreading the word about Owl City?
Adam:
It's pretty safe to say Owl City wouldn't exist if it weren't for the internet. I still can't figure out how everything came together exactly the way it did, but networking sites such as MySpace certainly take most, if not all credit for helping spread the word about the band. Good enough for me.

FNF: How excited are you to be performing at big festivals such as Bamboozle?
Adam:
Super excited. Like if Superman played in my band. Super excited.

FNF: We read that you recently visited Seattle for the first time. What is it about Seattle that has always fascinated you?
Adam:
The fact that people eat tartar sauce with their french fries rather than ketchup. I wrote a song about the city because I'd never been there and had always wondered what it was like. I'm fascinated by anything that has to do with the ocean, so I suppose a city by the sea seems as likely thing to sing about as any. I had a great time there.

FNF: What are you most looking forward to about your upcoming tours?
Adam:
Eating salsa in the van.

FNF: Will fans be able to meet you at the shows?
Adam:
Yes!

FNF: What artists have been most inspiring to you?
Adam:
Jonathan Ford, Nic Tse, Keith Kenniff, Shaquille O'Neal

FNF: What modern bands are you into these days?
Adam:
Unwed Sailor, Stars of the Lid, The Field, Helios, Hammock, Boards of Canada, Rachel's.

FNF: Any albums you recommend that your fans check out?
Adam:
Fearless by Taylor Swift.

FNF: Any upcoming releases you’re highly anticipating?
Adam:
If YACHT ever makes another record.

FNF:  How has your experience as an unsigned artist been thus far?
Adam:
Amazing!

Now for some completely random questions…

FNF: What has been the best day of your life to date?

I slept for 24 hours once. That was the literally the best DAY of my life...

FNF: What’s the best gift you have ever received?
Adam:
My friend Austin sent me a piece of pizza in the mail to my house in Minnesota all the way from NYC. I didn't eat it.

FNF: What’s the craziest dream you’ve ever had?

I had this dream once where I started an electronic band called Owl City. It was crazy. Then I woke up.

FNF: What’s your favorite way to pass time?

Fall asleep in orchestra concerts.

Adam:
Michael Jordan.
